Current legislation in South Africa requires that all vehicles requiring police clearance must be micro dotted. Ultradot offer various products to the market who require Police clearance on motor vehicles. We have the facility to fit microdots to motorcycles, trailers, cars, caravans, busses and trucks.
The police clearance process is as follows:
Licencing authority issues a RPC (Request for Police Clearance) with vehicle transfer papers; The person requesting the transfer has to take the vehicle for police clearance (Normally when an engine number has been changed); Before taking the vehicle to the SAPS VIS Centre the vehicle has to be micro dotted; The SAPS VIS Centre will then confirm that the vehicle is fitted with microdots in terms of the South African Standard or SANS534-2010; Only after the above process will the licencing authority approve the transfer of ownership.
